Is PS5 better than the XBOX series?

But I also wanted to know that is Sony PlayStation 5 or PS5 better than the XBOX series X or XBOX series S.

I think the new XBOX Series X has better hardware specifications. But PS4 is not so far behind in specs well.

My main concern is which one will be the better purchase? Currently none of my friends does console gaming. They all do pc. I want an XBOX or PS5 for our living room TV.

Kinda new in console thing I am. Because I do pc gaming myself. I hope someone can help!
